Is This the End?

Recent events in Israel have provoked many Christians to question whether we are on the brink of the Ezekiel 38 War of Gog and Magog. “Is this the beginning of the end?” they wonder.

While we may be living in the end times, it’s important that we not allow ourselves to be paralyzed by fear and anxiety regarding what we see and hear in world events. Instead, we should lift our heads in expectation of Jesus’ return. As Jesus said, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28 NKJV).

While we may be curious if current events signify prophetic fulfillments, it’s important for us to keep our focus on the spread of the gospel. Once the gospel of the kingdom is “preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations,” that’s when Jesus said “the end will come” (Matthew 24:14 NKJV).

As we continue to see events unfold in the Middle East specifically, let’s continue to:

  1. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for Israel.

  2. Pray for the Jewish people to recognize Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah.

  3. Pray for the people of Iran to have the opportunity to know and worship Jesus, with an awareness of a growing underground church in Iran.

  4. Preach the gospel to the nations.
